People went back to their hometown to cast their votes

My brother after casting his vote

We gathered at my sister's house after casting our votes.

Yesterday Sunday 5th May 2013, my son and daughter together with my sister and I went back to our birth place Tandek.  We took the 2 1/2 hour journey by car in order to cast our votes.  It was the day of the country's 13th General Election.  The road was full of cars. It was like the eve of Hari Raya where everyone seems to be heading towards their hometown.  However this was not Hari Raya, its election day.

My daughter and son cast their votes at the Khoi Ming School in Kota Marudu whereas my sister and I cast our votes at the SMK Tandek.  We met several friends who were also there to cast their votes.  I have not met some of them for many years and I almost could not recognize them since we all have grown old.  As we were leaving the school compound, I came across  my sister Rohaya.  Unlike us who lives in Kota Kinabalu, my sister Rohaya lives in Tandek.  She had sprained her ankle while campaining.  After exchanginging our greetings we proceeded to yet another sister's house who lives in Kg. Damai.  We ate and rested before continuing our journey back to Kota Kinabalu.  At home I watched TV 1 to see the election results but could not stay awake so I went to sleep.  I gather the Barisan National had won majority seats.  I am going to switch on the TV now to see if there is any news about the election to update myself. Hidup Barisan ! God Bless
